Associate Pastor of Youth

Job Description- Youth

1. Connect the students to the overall life of the church and the church to the needs of its students.
2. Actively participate in student activities that provide spiritual growth and fellowship such as outreach opportunities, school activities, camps, retreats, and community services.
3. Train students in discipleship, evangelism, and mission.
4. Develop strategies to visit the middle and high school campuses.
5. Connect and partner with parents in their involvement with the overall spiritual life and growth of students and the student ministry’s vision.
6. Oversee a strategic plan to transition the completion of high school students into the college ministry.
7. Administer the business affairs of the youth ministry of West Gate including developing budgets, overseeing expenditures and projecting needed purchases as well as maintenance and care of all youth supplies and equipment.

Job Description- Other:

1. Oversee weekly services and ministry opportunities.
2. Ability and willingness to work with pastor, staff, and leadership to promote the overall vision of West Gate Baptist Church.
3. Perform duties and tasks requested by Senior Pastor, such as hospital visits, pulpit supply, assisting with weddings and funerals, etc.

Job Requirements:

1. Have a passionate personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
2. Called by God to service in the student ministry & meets the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1 and Titus 1:5-9
3. In agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, West Gate Baptist Church Constitution and by- laws, and the vision of West Gate Baptist Church.
4. Collegiate or Seminary degree in ministry related field.
5. Experience in a successful student ministry leadership position.
6. Teachable and sensitive to God’s leadership.
7. Able to communicate effectively with youth, parents, staff, and church body.
