Senior Pastor Position

First Baptist Church of Mascoutah is seeking a Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and vision for the congregation.

Responsibilities 

• Lead church worship services and preach the Word
• Work with church leaders and deacons to carry out the church's mission and ministries
• Develp Bible study opportunities and evaluate and recommend training for staff and leaders
• Protect the church's welfare by:
  • Leading in church discipline
  • Overseeing financial policies
  • Ensuring appropriate insurance coverage
  • Carrying out the church's child abuse prevention policy
  • Assisting with saftey and property maintenance policies
• Moderate church business meetings and chair church council meetings

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age
• Sound in doctrine, called for full-time ministry, and ordained by a Southern Baptist church or church of like faith
• If married, must be the husband of one wife, excluding one who has been divorced and one who marries a divorced woman
• High moral standards
• Must pass  a criminal background check and comply with mandated regulations
• Uphold and agree to the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message

Education and Experience

• Seminary training with a Master of Divinity or related degree preferred
• At least two years related experience with five or more years related experience preferred
