Bi Vocational or FT Lead Pastor

Christopher First Baptist Church of Christopher Illinois is searching for a pastor. This person will shepherd and lead our church family to accomplish our mission of “Connecting People to God and Each Other”. 

 CFBC has a rich history that spans over 100 years, we are debt-free. We run 40 to 50 in attendance but it has been higher in the past. We have local community outreach programs that help serve the community with clothing and meals. 

We believe in our mission to share the love of Jesus Christ as a light for Him. We need a pastor who can help us improve our ministry and outreach.

Qualifications for our Lead Pastor:

• Must meet the qualifications of the office or elder/pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Must agree and support the beliefs of CFBC which aligns with the SBC Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Must be able to pastor as well as preach the gospel.
• A working knowledge of basic organizational skills, computer skills, leadership, and time management.
• Knowledge and skills with multimedia and social media would be a bonus in this position.
• Musical ability or ability to help manage our worship team would be a plus.
• Willingness to be involved in the community to seek new members through evangelism and support of the church family.

• Reenergize our student ministry, worship team, and outreach.
• Leadership that can give direction or guide our lay leaders so they can be more effective.
• Strengthen our members and outreach into the community to make us more effective for Jesus.

Salary is negotiable but expected to be $25,000+ per year plus parsonage. Salary is tied to budget and current giving. Because of this limited salary budget, we are open to bi-vocational applicants.
