Christopher First Baptist Church of Christopher Illinois is searching for our next lead pastor. This person will shepherd and lead our church family to accomplish our mission of “Connecting People to God and Each Other”. We are a focused group of young and old alike. We have a vibrant children’s program but need a new leader to help us expand this mission and add youth and adult programming.
CFBC has a rich history that spans over 100 years, but we have a new debt-free facility and a renewed heart for our area and community. We have added outreach programs that include “The Giving House” which serves the community with clothing and other needs. The church membership has organized a grassroots effort called “Maxine’s Meals” that generously provides a monthly meal service to sixty elderly and immobile seniors. We believe in our mission to share the love of Jesus Christ as a light for Him.
Qualifications for our Lead Pastor:
· Must meet the qualifications of the office or elder/pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
· Must agree and support the beliefs of CFBC which aligns with the SBC Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
· Must show clear evidence of giftedness in preaching to and sharing the Gospel with non-Christians of all ages and backgrounds.
· Must have a working knowledge of basic organizational skills such as budgeting, computer skills, leadership, and time management. Knowledge and skills in multimedia and social media would be a bonus in this position.
· Willingness to be involved in the community to seek new members through evangelism and support of the church family.

Salary is negotiable but expected to be about $25,000 per year plus parsonage. Because of this limited salary budget we are open to bi-vocational applicants, of course.
