Describe Your Church:
Living Faith Baptist Church (LFBC), located at 7575 West Outer Road, in Sherman, Illinois, was established in 1991. We are searching for the individual whom God has called to lead LFBC as the Senior Pastor, growing the church body and expanding God's kingdom in Sherman and beyond. LFBC is located just minutes from our state's capital in Sangamon County and serves a membership based within a 10+ mile radius of Sherman. LFBC is a contemporary New Testament church with a foundation in traditional Southern Baptist doctrine. Many of our members have actively participated in local, state, national, and international missions. Sunday morning small groups are offered to all age groups, pre-K through senior adults. LFBC offers midweek services for children and youth on Wednesday nights.
Describe the Pastor or Staff Profile:
Provides leadership for all functions of the church. May serve as ex-officio member of church organizations and committees. Leads all aspects of the church including supervision of the paid church staff. Is responsible to the congregation, coordinating through the Deacons, Leadership Team, and appropriate committees. Plans worship services, serving as spiritual leader of the church. Leads the membership to fulfill the functions of the church: worship, ministry, education, witnessing and fellowship. Performs other pastoral duties typical of a Southern Baptist church, including oversight of outreach and conducting special services (as needed). Qualifications: Meets the Biblical standards as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. A bachelor's degree with five plus (5+) years of ministry experience is preferred (not required) along with the following qualities: an effective communicator with leadership vision who emphasizes prayer, bible study, teaching, preaching, leadership, evangelism, discipleship, and spiritual growth. A nurturing leader who grows personally; helps others grow; develops leaders; delegates; emphasizes the importance of strong families; and communicates well with preschoolers through senior adults. A teacher who enables others to understand and apply spiritual truths. A counselor who can assist others with personal and/or spiritual problems.
