The Church started as a Mission October 31st, 1956. On January 3rd, 1957 the mission was constituted into an organized church with 22 charter members. The Church is affiliated with ECIBA East Central Illinois Baptist Association, IBSA Illinois Baptist State Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Our former Pastor accepted a full-time Pastor position in Wisconsin in July 2019. We currently are a small fellowship with 16-20 regular members and 4-6 regular visitors each Sunday. Thru the years our membership has fluctuated with times of growth and times of decline. God has been with this Church through it all, and He is with us now. We have a well maintained building but no parsonage. The members of First Baptist Church are committed to the Church and to finding a Pastor to lead us. Our goal is to find the man who has a clear calling from the Lord to be our Pastor, to lead in proclaiming the true gospel of God's Word, reaching individuals for Christ, fostering spiritual growth, engaging with surrounding community and adding to the growth of our church family.
Le Roy, IL is a small rural town, surrounded by farm land, just south east of Bloomington, IL. Le Roy has Police, Fire and Ambulance Service, Pre-K thru 12th grade schools and 6 churches. (Methodist, Christian, Presbyterian, non-denominational, Spiritualist and Southern Baptist.
