Mercy's Door (a two-year-old church plant in Mascoutah, IL) is seeking a gospel-centered leader to help build a culture of worship in our church. As a diverse family of believers (age, socioeconomic status, religious background, family structure, work/military involvement) our main focus is to lead our people into regularly worshipping Jesus both corporately (during our weekly gatherings) and individually (at home and as a part of gospel community). The leader we are looking for is first and foremost a worshipper of Jesus, committed to making much of the name of Jesus (and not their own or the name of our church), passionate about leading and shepherding others, and musically gifted in playing/singing.
Our musical tastes are fairly eclectic in style but scriptural in content. Our atmosphere as a church is authentic when it comes to our need for grace and mercy and committed when it comes to our desire for others to experience the good news of the Gospel. The position can be either part time or full time, but depending on salary requirements some fundraising may be necessary (we will assist if that is the case). Additionally, the person/position may serve as a pastor/elder if the right person is qualified and called by the Lord.
